6 months!
Sorry for the late update, it has been a little busy. We went to Monterey to visit Phil's family for Thanksgiving. We left at 4:00 am to miss the LA traffic. It worked & we made it to Monterey by 11:30! Zach did fantastic. He was a little fussy, but not too bad. We had a great visit although Grandma Sokol is the only one who got to see him roll over. I guess that he didn't want to show off. Phil is currently in Papua New Guinea for a dive trip. Thankfully we have a great nanny working part time to help me out. Marijke is wonderful with Zach & he does so well with her. We wanted to get her started before this trip of Phil's & before I go back to work part time in Jan. My return date is Jan 12, one more month. Things are going ok on my own for the majority of time. Sometimes I have to remind everyone (Zach & the three cats) that I am outnumbered & they must take turns. Of course Zach always gets his turn first. Zach's last check up was a big one. He is now 6 months actual & 13 weeks adjusted. He got his immunizations & also his flu & H1N1 shots. I had to debate about giving all of those shots at once or risk exposing him to more sick people with another visit to the doctor. He got all of his shots & just slept a lot. He was still 10 lbs 9 ozs a week after his last check. Also, he only grew 0.5 inches in 5 weeks. So, we are trying to push the feeding but also increasing how much I breastfeed. I am breastfeeding every feeding now & then giving him either fortified breast milk or formula in a bottle. I pump every other feeding, so it is nice not to pump so much. We are hoping that my supply increases to keep up with his intake. We will go to nutrition clinic in a week & see how it is going. He is still in his newborn cloths with a few 0-3 months outfits. While it is nice to get a lot of use out of his cloths, I really would like him to grow more. Oh well, we'll see. His eyes continue to get better. The retinopathy is still there, but gradually going away. The eye doctor was very happy. We still have to watch for macular dragging due to potential scar tissue, but no signs of it yet. She also had us stop the Vitamin E, so he is just on the regular vitamins once a day. We go back in 3 months. Besides rolling over from tummy to back, he has also now found his hands. He can grab a toy although I am not sure that he know what he is doing, he then grabs it with his other hand. He recognizes mom & dad & generally is meeting all of his milestones.
